Now Accepting Applications for 2018 Scholarships

Every year PFLAG San Jose/Peninsula grants several scholarships to local graduating seniors whose histories, activities, and personal plans demonstrate support for justice and equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons. The application period has begun and continues until March 31. See our scholarships page for details and a downloadable application form.

¡PFLAG en Español!

See below for the English version.

Alum Rock United Methodist Church

PFLAG in Spanish!

We now offer a peer support group for Spanish-speaking parents, families, friends and allies of LGBTQ folk. It's very similar to our other two general support groups in San Jose and San Mateo; the main difference is that we conduct the meetings in Spanish.

Here are the details for our next meeting:

Wednesday, April 4, 7:30 p.m.
Alum Rock United Methodist Church
30 Kirk Ave., San Jose
Special event: Screening of the documentary film Anyone and Everyone, dubbed in Spanish. We showed the first half in March, so we'll show the second half in April.

We'll have subsequent meetings on the first Wednesday every month — May 2, June 6, etc. — at the same time and location.

We're just getting started with our publicity efforts, so you can help by spreading the word to anyone you know in the Spanish-speaking community of San Jose and the South Bay area. Click here for an electronic copy of our chapter brochure in Spanish, which you may distribute freely.

Also, we want to extend a big thank you to the Rev. Stephen Lee and his congregation at Alum Rock United Methodist; their initiative and generous support have been vital to this project!

If you have LGBTQ+ announcements or know of events that PFLAGers MAY want to attend, email them to the Webmaster
