Contributions may be designated for the General Fund, Scholarship Fund, or Endowment Fund.
- General Fund – Covers expenses and maintains the activities of the chapter.
- Scholarship Fund – Supports our scholarship program
- Endowment Fund – Established in 2001 to ensure the future of the chapter. Income from this fund may be used at the direction of the board, while the principal will remain intact.
There are a variety of ways to provide financial support for our chapter. If you are making a large donation, please consider either sending a check or adding something to cover fees. Our credit card transaction costs are currently almost 5%.

What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) ?
If you are over 70 ½ and have a traditional IRA, you qualify to make a tax-free donation, whether or not you itemize deductions. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) transfers money from your traditional IRA to a non-profit, without going into your income. Check with your institution to see whether they’ll send the money directly to our chapter for you, or send you a check payable to PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula for you to mail.
