A Message From The Board of Directors

Our chapter continues to enjoy generous financial support from our members and friends. Your support covers the expenses of our volunteer run chapter, including the ability to distribute free literature, participate in Pride events, conduct a scholarship program, maintain our website, and hold twelve hours of meetings each month. In addition, we are able to provide significant support to PFLAG National. We thank the individuals and organizations who have made this possible.

There are a variety of ways to provide financial support for our chapter.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are over 70 ½ and have a traditional IRA you qualify to make a tax-free donation, whether or not you itemize deductions. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) transfers money from your traditional IRA to a non-profit, without going into your adjusted gross income. Check with your institution to see whether they’ll send the money directly to our chapter for you, or send you a check payable to PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula for you to mail. Your QCD can count toward satisfying your RMD (Required MInimum Distribution), if you have one.

Also Consider:

  • Asking your employer about matching gifts programs.
  • Donating appreciated stock.
  • Designating PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula as a beneficiary of a financial account, retirement account, will or trust.
  • Giving in memory of a loved one.
