PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula advances the education and advocacy components of its mission with members of a Speakers Bureau available to the community to tell their personal stories. These volunteers are parents with LGBTQ+ children of any age and/or are themselves members of the LGBTQ+ community. They supply faces and real world examples for sometimes poorly understood concepts of gender identity and sexual orientation; increasing understanding, empathy and compassion in the community.

What can you expect from a Speakers Bureau panel?
A very brief history and description of PFLAG typically leads off the presentation. Each member of the 3-4 person panel spends a few minutes telling their story and then there is plenty of time for Q&A.
Who can host a panel? Where do you speak?
- Middle and High school classrooms, assemblies, and parent gatherings.
- College and University classes and programs.
- Faith communities.
- Civic and community organizations.
- Businesses, employee groups, healthcare settings.
