Historically, PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula has maintained a volunteer Speakers Bureau to further education and advocacy. Panels of speakers, who are LGBTQ themselves or who have children who are LGBTQ, share their personal stories and experiences and then take questions from the audience. Invitations to speak come from middle and high schools, community colleges and universities, religious and business entities.
The COVID-19 pandemic paused these valuable face-to-face presentations by the Speakers Bureau, and the volunteer tasks that sustain such an effort. We hope to restore this service fully in the future. Meanwhile we are happy to satisfy as many requests for speakers as possible. Contact us at speakersbureau@pflagsanjose.org.
